Samara House

The Samara House is one of the few fully complete Frank Lloyd Wright houses. The house was built from 1954 to 1956 and is located in West Lafayette, Indiana. It has been solely owned by Dr. Christian and his wife.

The Samara House got its name from the seeds of the pine cone and maple tree.  The seed having only one wing appears to have two as it spirals down to the ground.  This optical illusion is exemplified on the design of the rug, at the top you see one wing, but as it progresses two wings become visible.
